Silver Mountain Aviary is a breeding and care
facility devoted to the advancement in health, care and breeding of parrots for
pet and breeding trades. This includes many species of pure and hybrid
parrots. We currently breed and sell Ducorps Cockatoos, Goffins Cockatoos,
African Greys, Scarlet Macaws, Camelot Macaws, Blue and Gold Macaws, Panama
Amazons, Lilac Crowned Amazons and are developing stock for Mexican Red
Head and Orange Wing Amazons, Moluccan Cockatoos and others.
All of us at Silver Mountain Aviary would like to welcome and thank
you for taking your time to visit with us.
We hope you will enjoy the site and find the information useful.
Place this site in your favorites and occasionally check back to see what's new or
changed.
This website is continuously evolving. It is currently under
construction.
While things may not change at first, as the site evolves there will be more
information posted, news of new arrivals, general information, sources for
additional information, pictures and more.
Keep in mind that when we sell a pet, the pet is ready for you. We do
not sell pets that are unweaned and not ready to be on their own. As a
result you can expect our birds to be ready to bond with it's new owner and able
to eat and mature naturally. Our new arrivals may be a year old or more
depending on the species.
Remember -- Don't rush them, enjoy them, they are babies and may be
with you a lifetime.
Our Mission
Our mission, at Silver Mountain Aviary, is to preserve, protect and provide a
genetically stable breeding population of various exotic avian species.
Through healthful and sanitary aviaries, Silver Mountain intends to maintain and
enhance the health and breeding, of species under our control, to maintain and
expand a genetically viable and self-sustaining species. With research,
education and experience, exotic avian species at Silver Mountain will retain
natural instincts and characteristics that can be used to benefit future
generations and support a 'raise and release' program to repopulate depleted
regions around the world. To help support this initiative, Silver Mountain
Aviary, Inc. will work together with other research facilities, zoo's and
qualified breeders, internationally, to lend, and be lent excess avian
stock.
To financially support this undertaking, Silver Mountain will maintain its
status as a non-profit corporation, seek donations from organizations and
individuals that are interested in the survival and care of rapidly diminishing
species. Much of the burden will be self-funded and supplemented through the
sales of additional captive breed stock for the companionship and
enjoyment by individual aviculturalists.
Through this lifetime mission, it is our wish and purpose, to make these
species available for the generations that follow.
